Registry & Cadastre to Share Property Data

 The Council of Ministers approved a blueprint for the Mortgage Law that will enhance data flow between Spain´s Registry of Deeds and the Land Registry.

At recent press conference organized after the Council´s meeeting, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, the Government´s vice-president said that such information exchange is essential for property identifying. The decision has been made on basis of “inaccuracy” that occured in the past in the Land Registry´s records, such as entering data about the same plot several times.

Moreover, President remarks that the measures will allow detection of illegal ownership and detailed description of each property. (…) The meeting also bore approval of several laws from various fields, such as industrial patents, fishing, the public administration reform or the Tajo river management plan.
