16/05/2014 – Expansion
Madrid welcomes a new five-star establishment. The project aims at converting the luxury Palacio de Mejía Lequerica, situated on the street of the same name close to the Alonso Martínez area, into the Hotel Urso. Torimbia, the company owning the property and having a share in Inmolevante, has found a way to discharge the previous operator, the NH chain.
Luis Fernández-Ordás, head of the firm, has chosen the manager of white label Marugal to manage the establishment. The new project assumes opening a 78-room Hotel Urso inside a 8.500 square meter building from the year 1913.
Althought the previous project failed, the NH maintains close relationship with Torimbia and Inmolevante as they own the NH Paseo del Prado, the NH Argüelles, the NH Alberto Aguilera and the NH Prisma. The portfolio of both companies also includes few office buildings (e.g. the NH headquarters on the Santa Engracia Street) and the building at 88 Serrano Street.
