BeCorp is planning to build 800 new rental homes in Barcelona on 4 sites once it has received the necessary construction permits from the Town Hall of Barcelona.
The largest project is planned for the site of the former Coca-Cola factory in the La Verneda i La Pau neighbourhood. There, the company in which Scranton, the investment vehicle owned by the Grifols family, and the former property developer Corp own stakes, is going to build 2 properties containing more than 400 homes.
Meanwhile, in La Sagrera neighbourhood, BeCorp is planning to build a 7-storey property containing 91 homes with parking and common spaces. Whilst in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Ciutat Vella neighbourhoods, it is planning to construct 2 more residential developments for rent.
In addition, the Catalan company is working on five other projects in the Barcelona metropolitan area, namely its second development in Sant Just Desvern and its first developments in each of Terrassa, Badalona, Abrera and Santa Coloma de Llobregat.
In total, BeCorp is planning to invest €600 million in the construction of 2,700 rental homes by 2022 in Barcelona and the surrounding area, before expanding to other Spanish cities over the medium term.
