Lis Shopping Sets Inauguration for Next April

A Pingo Doce supermarket, FitnessHut gymnasium, Norauto centre, Santa Madalena dental clinic, Radio Popular store, Opticalia, Americana’s tobacconist and Prio’s stand are some of the brands that confirmed they would be opening in the new shopping centre.
Lis Shopping, the new shopping centre under construction in the former home of Auto Leiria is scheduled to open in April. The new mall will be located next to the Porto Moniz roundabout.
Caves da Montanha, the firm that is developing the new shopping mall, announced the opening date on Thursday. The company also stated that future tenants have already reserved all of the stores and stands.
In addition to a supermarket belonging to the Pingo Doce chain, a FitnessHut gym, a Norauto centre specializing in car repair and maintenance, a Santa Madalena dental clinic, a Radio Popular store, Opticalia, a Papelaria Americana tobacconist, Prio gas station and a pharmacy will open in the new venture, the developers announced in the statement.
The project was designed by the architect Paulo Costa. The mall will be divided into two floors and will include an outdoor car park, which will also be the location of a McDonald’s restaurant with McCafé and McDrive services.
According to Alberto Henriques, the general manager of Caves da Montanha, Lis Shopping will lead to the creation of “150 to 200 direct jobs” while “boosting the area and supporting new construction and the dynamisation of a new area of the city.”
The project, which has an area of approximately 7,770 square meters, has been shut down for almost a year, due to problems related to accessibility, the Municipal Master Plan and the passage of related legislation. Construction began again in the summer of 2017, as reported by the Região de Leiria.
