Urban Rehabilitation Up 47.7% in July

Activity in the urban rehabilitation sector increased by 47.7% in the year to July, maintaining the existing trend of “significant growth” seen in recent months, according to the Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industries’ (AICCOPN) barometer, released this Monday.

AICCOPN’s monthly survey of civil construction and public works executives revealed that activity in the urban rehabilitation sector was up 47.7% year-on-year to July, and 1.5% above the month before.” Thus, the index “maintained the existing trend of significant growth verified seen in recent months,” said AICCOPN.

According to the barometer, the increase in the level of activity in the urban rehabilitation sector was accompanied by an increase in the index that measures construction companies’ order books, with “an increase of 33.0% year-on-year.” The contracted production in months, i.e., the guaranteed working time at a normal production rate, “came in at 8.7 months in July, a year-on-year increase of 0.4% and 15.4% over the previous month,” according to the barometer.
