Mortgage Issuance Close to €10 Billion in 2019

15 January 2020 – According to the Bank of Portugal, the country’s banks granted nearly one billion euros in mortgage loans during November, the highest amount since June of last year.

Portuguese lenders loaned a total of 978 million euros in the month, up 2.3% compared to October. November marked the third consecutive month that lending topped 900 million euros. Since the beginning of the year, banks have issued 9.513 billion euros in mortgages.
