Two Firms Bid to Acquire the Quinta do Braamcamp

21 April 2020 The Barreiro city call has received two bids, each exceeding five million euros, for the historic Quinta do Braamcamp in Setúbal. The two firms are said to be Calatrava Grace and Saint Germain. The Setúbal district council is planning to create a panel to evaluate the two competing proposals in the coming weeks.

Santiago Calatrava, the renowned Spanish architect who designed the Gare do Oriente, in Lisbon, owns Calatrava Grace. The French-Portuguese Saint Germain, which is based in Leiria, specialises in the sale and acquisition of real estate assets.

The Barreiro city hall announced the potential sale of the 21-hectare plot of land, which is on the riverside, at the beginning of 2019. According to the municipality, only 5% of the property is zoned for housing, while the remaining 95% should consist of sports and leisure areas and parks.
