The Porto Office Park (POP) to Open in Porto

Located on Avenida Sidónio Pais, in the heart of the prime office zone, Porto’s latest office centre, the Porto Office Park (POP), is under construction. The complex will consist of 2 office buildings, each with nine above-ground floors, with more than 30,000 m2 in total area and a building with a restaurant and a gym.

The developer expects to complete the POP by the end of October 2019. The complex will be marketed for leasing by CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, JLL and Predibisa.

The POP will boost the supply of offices in the city of Porto. The new office centre will provide for a series of options for dining, including a cafeteria, restaurant and even in-office eating areas, as well as a gym, paddle tennis courts, a large auditorium, meeting rooms and various concierge services. The tenants will also have access to a series of services through a mobile digital app. The buildings are located within 15.000 m2 of green areas and will have the BREEAM “Excellent” certification.

Luís Mesquita, Director of CBRE Porto, revealed that “this is one of the most interesting real estate projects in Porto, one that will completely revolutionise the city’s office market. Several national and international companies are choosing to base themselves in Porto, which until now, has been hampered by the lack of office assets that meet their requirements. POP is an appropriate solution because it is a future-oriented office park that will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the Boavista area. ”

Mariana Rosa, Head of Office Agency for JLL, stated that “the market in Porto needed such a project. POP represents an important step towards upgrading the city’s supply of office spaces, not only because it is designed to meet companies’ current needs, offering excellent areas on each floor, open-plan office spaces, as well as a wide range of facilities that will make its tenants’ lives easier; but also because it incorporates features designed for the new millennial workforce. The mobile app, which the owner designed, is a good example, providing several extra services unique to the tenants, from food, laundry and car washing, among others.
