The Odalys Group to Build Two Student Residences in Portugal

8 March 2019

The Odalys Group, which is based in France, is planning on building its first two student residences in Portugal, in Lisbon and Porto, and another six are in the pipeline.  Odalys, which is one of the principal European investors in short-term accommodations for tourism, business and students stated that its new student housing venture, Odalys Campus, will open in Lisbon by 2021 and in Porto by 2022, the group’s first two outside of France.

Odalys revealed that it has ambitious plans to open 30 new residences over the next seven years, split between the student residences of Odalys Campus, including the projects in Lisbon and Porto, and short-term residences aimed at business travellers, Odalys City.

The venue in Lisbon will have the capacity to house 124 students. The firm acquired a plot of land next to the Universidade Lusíada, nearby the Institute of Art and New Technologies, which together have approximately 20,000 students. Odalys will build its 211-bed residence in Porto in a quiet residential area, with good transport links to the city centre.
