Spain’s Healthcare Activos Acquires Hospital for €25 Million
12 October 2020 – The Trofa Saúde group, one of Portugal’s largest private hospital groups, has sold the property that houses its hospital in Vila Real to Healthcare Activos for 25 million euros. Trofa Saúde structured the deal as a sale and leaseback operation and will pay rent to Healthcare, a Spanish platform specialising in health care real estate assets.
Inaugurated two years ago, the Hospital Trofa Saúde Vila Real is a six-storey building, including two floors for parking, with 58 inpatient beds, 83 doctors’ surgeries, three operating theatres, two gastroenterology rooms, a gym, 35 physiotherapy treatment booths, plus an intermediate care unit and a neonatal care unit.
The property has approximately 23,000 square metres of surface area, of which 14,000 are hospital services, while the remaining 9,000 m2 are dedicated to support.
