Porto Considers Requirement to Set Aside 10% of New Builds for Affordable Housing

21 July 2020 – A proposed revision to Porto’s Municipal Zoning Plan would introduce the obligation to set aside 10% of any new developments exceeding 2,500 square metres in the city centre for affordable housing.

The municipal Councillor for Urbanism, Pedro Baganha, announced that he expects the City Council to send the proposal for public consultation, which would take place in the last quarter of 2020.
