New Construction and Rehabilitation Permits Up by 12.2% in 3Q2020
7 December 2020 – The issuance of licences for the construction and rehabilitation of residential buildings, by Municipal Councils, increased by 12.2% in the third quarter of this year, compared to the previous quarter. However, the figure fell year-on-year.
The increase in new construction and residential building redevelopment licences was due to a growth of 10.7% in the construction of new buildings and an 18.3% increase in renovations of existing structures, according to the AICCOPN’s Housing Statistics. The first nine months of the year saw a decline of 2.2%, due to a -0.1% drop in new construction and -9.2% decline in redevelopments.
