Average mortgage payments will rise slightly in April for contracts indexed to the three- and six-month Euribor in Portugal.

Data resulting from a simulation by Deco/Dinheiro&Direitos compared the latest revisions to Euribor rates. A mortgage-holder with a €150,000, 30-year loan indexed to the 6-month Euribor rate, with a 1% spread, would pay a monthly instalment of 447.73 euros as of April. The average payment during the previous month was €0.33 lower.

In the case of contracts linked to the 3-month Euribor, the average payment would reach 446.22 euros, an increase of €0.13.

These figures were calculated using the average Euribor rates for the month of March, which were -0.516% for the 6-month Euribor and -0.539% for the 3-month.
