INE: Rents to Remain Unaltered in 2021

4 September 2020 – After five years of steady, though incremental, increases, residential and commercial rents in Portugal are now forecast to remain unchanged in 2021. The country’s statistical agency, the INE, published its forecast for the average change in prices next year, excluding housing, at -0.03%. Most rental contracts are indexed to inflation.

The forecast drop follows a 0.51% rise this year, 1.15% in 2019, 1.12% in 2018, 0.54% in 2017 and 0.16% in 2016.
