Hyatt to Open Hyatt Branded Hotel in Lisbon

According to an article in the Jornal de Negócios, the US hotel chain, Hyatt will open a new hotel in Portugal, its eleventh, though the first using the Hyatt name. Work on the hotel, which is located between Belém and Lisbon’s centre, five minutes from the historic centre and tourist attractions like the Torre de Belém and Jerónimos Monastery, is expected to be finished by late 2020. The new hotel will have approximately 200 rooms and flats, a spa, pool, rooftop terrace and garden.

Hyatt owns ten other existing hotels in the country including the Pousada Mosteiro Guimarães, the Pousada de Lisboa and the Pousada Palácio de Estoi, Hotel da Estrela, Hotel Infante Sagres, Alentejo Marmoris Hotel & Spa and Carmo’s Boutique Hotel, along with partnerships in the Quinta da Comporta and Quinta das Lágrimas.
