Housing Prices Jump 20.1% in Vila Nova de Gaia

14 July 2020 Housing prices in the city of Vila Nova de Gaia jumped by 20.1%, according to a report by Portugal’s National Statistics Institute (INE). Prices in the cities of Amadora and Braga also rose by more than 15%.

Prices rose all over the country, as the average price per square meter in Vila Nova de Gaia increased sharply to 1,206 euros/m2, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%. Amadora also saw prices jump, up by 19.9% to an average of 1,563 euros/m2. The third highest increase came in the city of Braga, with a rise of 16.6% to 971 euros/m2, the lowest level among cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants.
