Housing Prices Exceed the EU Average in Late 2019

14 April 2020 Eurozone housing prices rose by 4.2% y-o-y in the last quarter of 2019 versus 4.7% in the European Union, according to Eurostat.

Prices in Portugal rose, on the other hand, by 8.9%, though that represents a moderation to the previous increases.  According to the European agency, the data as yet fails to reflect the effects of Covid-19.

Compared to the third quarter, the biggest gains were in Malta (3.5%), Estonia and Croatia (2.9%) and Poland (2.8%). Cyprus (-3.7%), Denmark (-3.2%) and Hungary (-1.5%) saw the biggest drops.
