Easter Holidays Stem Fall in Hotel Occupancy

The occupancy rate at Portuguese hotels stood at 71% in April, stable compared to the year before, as Easter halted the downward trend of the last year.  ARR (the average room rate) and RevPar (revenue per available room) both grew by 6% to 93 euros and 67 euros, respectively, according to AHP’s Tourism Monitor.

Lisbon (85%), Greater Porto (77%) and Madeira (76%) had the highest occupancy while ARR grew by 20% in the Algarve and by 14% in Minho.  The regions of Lisbon (103 euros), Greater Porto (73 euros) and Estoril/Sintra (67 euros) had the highest RevPar.
