AM Alpha Acquires Portfolio of Offices in Portugal

27 January 2021

AM Alpha announced that it had acquired a portfolio of offices in Portugal for an undisclosed amount. An affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management, which represents several institutional investors managed by a Hamburg-based pension fund, was on the other side of the deal.

The “Beatles” office portfolio, as it is known, includes three office buildings in Lisbon (two on Avenida José Malhoa and one on Picoas Plaza) and one in Vila Nova de Gaia.

AM Alpha sees the deal as its first major acquisition, though it is AM Alpha’s third purchase in Portugal. The fund manager has already completed the renovation and sale of an office building, as well as the acquisition of the BPlanet retail development on Lisbon’s south bank.

In a statement, Martin Lemke, Managing Director of AM Alpha, said that “the success of this operation is further evidence of AM Alpha’s ability to source robust real estate investment opportunities.” Mr Lemke added that “the Iberian region remains one of our main focuses and where we are actively looking for core and value-oriented investments in all sectors.”
