A New Hotel and Office Building Under Development in Porto

21 April 2020 – Ferreira Construções is working on two new developments in Porto including a new five-star Eurostars hotel and the Palácio dos Correios office building, both on the Avenida dos Aliados. Both projects include luxury retail premises, increasing the northern city’s supply of specialty boutiques.  While both buildings were set for their inauguration this, that might suffer some delay now due to the pandemic.

The Eurostars Aliados Hotel is said to have two shops, one with around 200 m2 and the other with approximately 100 m2, both street-facing. The firm has already negotiated the larger space with a well-known fashion retailer when the second is still up for lease.

The Palácio dos Correios, a new office building, has already been fully leased. Two large ground-floor stores will go to the Portuguese post office and a branch of Novo Banco. Other spaces will potentially house a restaurant and a health club.

The redevelopment of a significant number of buildings in the area, one of the most well-known in central Porto, will renovate the Avenida dos Aliados and Praça da Liberdade. One such redevelopment, the Casa Navarro on the Praça da Liberdade, consists of five 19^th-century buildings with wrought-iron balconies. The property is now occupied by the Pestana Porto and the David Rosas jewellery store.
