Spanish Multinational Expands Logistics Unit in Santo Tirso

22 January 2018

The Spanish multinational ADI – whose core business is the distribution of chemicals to the textile, paint and construction, electroplating and industrial cleaning and maintenance markets, as well as the sale of quality control measuring instruments – is expanding its facilities.

Located in the Ermida Business Park in Santo Tirso, the Spanish group’s new facility – covering 5,000 sqm of construction area – will allow ADI to leverage its business in Portugal through “the optimisation of the company’s supply chain.”

The project and construction of ADI’s new logistics unit is the responsibility of Garcia, Garcia, a Portuguese construction company that already has an extensive portfolio of logistics projects, an area that has seen very favourable growth in Portugal.

The Spanish multinational ADI arrived in Portugal in 2006, when it set itself up in the Maia Industrial Zone with a logistics centre that, however, no longer has the capacity to attend to the group’s needs.

With its completion date scheduled for February, the ADI Group’s new logistics facility will consist of two distinct areas, a warehouse and another administrative and social area, in physically separate buildings.

The Ermida Business Park in Santo Tirso, also owned by Garcia Garcia, has 20 hectares of industrial areas, home to such companies as WEG and Casfil (PIN project), both built by Garcia, Garcia. The industrial park is also undergoing an expansion.
