Sintra Will Be the Next Stop for Vincci Hotels

2 March 2018

Vincci Hotels will open a new hotel in the Portuguese city of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995, just 28 kilometres from the the country’s capital of Lisbon.

The Spanish hotel chain will thereby strengthen its presence in the country through the inauguration of its fourth hotel, joining the Vincci Baixa and Vincci Liberdade, both four-star hotels located in Lisbon, and Vincci Porto, in Portugal’s second largest city.

The Vincci Hotels new unit in Portugal will have five-stars and is expected to open in 2020. The hotel will occupy 8,000 m2 of land, with five buildings and a large garden. The project will have a total of 41 rooms, distributed among the different buildings, with eight suites ranging in size from 45 to 55 m2 and superior rooms with areas ranging from 25 to 35 m2.

The main building is a manor from the beginning of the 19th century. It will have 12 large guest rooms as well as the hotel’s essential services, including a restaurant, open to the general public, focused on local cuisine and products.

The hotel will have a full-service spa, available to guests, and a gym, park, swimming pool, deck, lounge bar and an area for organising events with a capacity of 120-300 people.

In a statement, Vincci Hoteles’ CEO Carlos Calero explains that the new hotel is part of the chain’s projected growth in the country: “Portugal is a great destination. The climate, the gastronomy and its charm make it a good option for travelling; it is a country that arouses great interest in the Spanish population, due to its proximity, and is also ever more appealing to international clients. This project consolidates our presence in the country. The new hotel meets all the requirements to be part of our hotel chain, because of its unique surroundings,” the executive explained.

Mr Calero also affirms that “we will continue to grow, without deviating from the essence of our business model: an exclusive portfolio of authentic 4 and 5-star hotels located in excellent locations which are capable of generating positive experiences for our guests, offering them differentiating elements with careful design and service of the highest quality.”
