Revive to Launch Another Six Public Tenders by Year-End

13 November 2018

Six more public tenders under the Revive program are expected by year-end. Revive is aimed at recuperating and utilising buildings with high historical and cultural value, Pedro Siza Vieira, Deputy Minister and Economy, announced in Parliament.

According to the minister, who was speaking at the joint commission on Budget, Finance and Administrative Modernisation and Economy, Innovation and Public Works, in the context of the evaluation of the State Budget for 2019 (OE2019), “nine projects have already been launched through the Revive program” and a total of 33 projects will be launched by the end of the current legislature.

Among the public tenders to be launched by the end of the year are projects such as the Convent of San Francisco in Portalegre, Carmo Quartel, Horta, Paço Real in Caxias, Graça Convent in Lisbon, the Convent of the Monasteries of Arouca and Lorvão and the Convent of Carmo, in Moura, Lusa reported.

“The Government will also launch a Revive Nature program that will seek to value nature tourism through the better use of facilities located in our rural landscape,” Pedro Siza Vieira added, stressing that one must “recognise that the development and growth process must benefit the country as a whole.”

The minister also argued for the need to solve “regional imbalances,” adding that the Government has “territorial cohesion” as a priority.
