Lisbon is the Fourth Principal Urban Destination for Senior Citizens

Lisbon is the fourth principal destination for senior citizens booking through Airbnb, but London, Istanbul and Guadalajara (Mexico) are rapidly scaling the list of the preferred destinations for travellers over the age of 60.

According to data from online platform Airbnb, more than 1.6 million European travellers over the age of 60 booked their accommodations using the online platform at destinations around the world in the last year.

Airbnb’s data showed that seniors most prefer to visit cities like Paris, London, Rome and Lisbon, the four cities at the top of the list by total volume. Other popular destinations include Istanbul and Guadalajara (Mexico), as well as the Philippines and several regions in the south of the United States, areas which registered the most significant growth. London topped the list.
