Iberostar Hotels & Resorts Will Open Hotel in Lisbon

11 August 2017

The Spanish chain Iberostar Hotels & Resorts will open its first hotel in Portugal. The new venture will be an urban hotel in Lisbon’s city centre, on Castilho street.

The Iberostar Lisboa will be a five-star hotel with about 160 rooms, divided between rooms with city views and suites.

The hotel will feature an outdoor swimming pool with a bar and a solarium, an à la carte restaurant, additional gastronomic facilities, a spa, and other amenities.

The new hotel is the direct result of the expansion strategy announced by the Spanish hotel chain, led by Miguel Fluxá, in January of this year, during Fitur. The opening of six new hotels – one in Majorca (Spain), two in Cuba, one in Mexico, one in Miami (USA) and in last in Morocco – was announced, as well as the expansion of the chain’s urban hotels, including Lisbon, Budapest, New York, Madrid, Miami, Havana, Barcelona, Santo Domingo and Lima, all part of a three-year expansion plan.

The new hotel will begin receiving reservations on its website on October 11 and is scheduled to officially open its doors in the same month.
