Iberostar Hopes to Open More Urban Hotels in Portugal

The Iberostar Lisboa Hotel, officially inaugurated today, represented an investment of 35 million euros for the Spanish group based in the Balearic Islands.

The Spanish group Iberostar, which inaugurated its first hotel in Portugal today in the centre of Lisbon, intends to open more urban hotels in Portugal, although at the moment it has no plans to do so, Inmaculada Munõz, director of the Hotel Iberostar Lisboa, revealed today in the hotel’s official inaugural event.

Located on Castilho street, the hotel has 166 rooms, two swimming pools, a spa, two meeting rooms with capacity for between 10 and 260 people, a restaurant (‘Luz’) and bar, among other services.

A second inaugural event will be held at a date yet to be defined during November.

Iberostar Lisboa represented an investment of 35 million euros for the Spanish group based in the Balearic Islands.

The new Iberostar hotel in Lisbon already has an occupancy rate of between 75% and 80%, an average that the group wants to maintain throughout its first year of operations.

In addition to the Spanish and Portuguese markets, the principal clients of this hotel in the Portuguese capital are tourists from the United Kingdom, the United States, France and Germany,
