With the increase of foreign citizens who are opting to live and invest in Seixal, the municipality is underwriting a meeting of investors at the Luso-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILF), within the framework of the Real Estate and Investment Forum in Portugal, organised by CCILF.

The Municipality of Seixal noted that the number of tourists that visit the Seixal has been increasing year after year. The number of visitors increased by 65% from to 2016 to 2017, and the number of overnight stays by foreign citizens increased by 51%.

In a statement, the municipality revealed that one of the municipality’s main attractions is recreational boating. “With a wide riverside front, Seixal has all the conditions to become the destination of choice for recreational boating activities, not only for its unique characteristics, namely its naturally sheltered port but also because of its excellent location, close to the capital. Thus, the municipality has been investing in the area, with the Baía do Seixal Marine Station project, which already has two berthing facilities in Seixal and Amora. The Seixal Recreational Port Economic and Financial Viability Study is currently also under elaboration,” the statement read.

On Friday, the Seixal City Council will present new projects for economic development in the municipality to foreign investors, namely in the area of catering, hospitality and recreational boating.
