Ávoris Buys Halcon Travel Agencies in Portugal
20 November 2017
The Ávoris group, previously called Barceló Viajes, which acquired the Latitudes tour operator from the Globalia group, made another acquisition from Juan José Hidalgo’s company when it bought Halcon’s 60 branches in Portugal.
Ávoris will now run 60 Halcon stores in Portugal, 40 of which are franchises, according to the tourism news portal “Agenttravel”, which cites sources close to the operation, which began negotiations at the end of August.
The Ávoris group is thereby strengthening its presence in Portugal, where it operates in the business travel market through BCD Travel, in the tourist market with Jolidey and Catai Tours and in aviation through Orbest.
Globalia will reorganise the strategy of its remaining Halcón network, dedicating it entirely to the Spanish market, where it has 1,050 Halcon and Ecuador Viajes travel agencies.
