The Aureum group acquired the former Servas Convent, in Borba, Évora, and will convert the property into a five-star hotel. The group will invest 10 million euros in the new hotel, which will involve a wine component, according to an article in the Diário Imobiliário.

The company expects to maintain the original design of the building, which dates to the seventeenth century. The property is considered to be an exemplar of regional architecture and had been largely abandoned.

The Porto-based company is investing in hotels in Portugal, renovating historic properties such as the former São Paulo Convent, in the neighbouring town of Vila Viçosa.
