Vinci to Invest €15MM to Expand Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto

According to a report in the Diário Imobiliário, Vinci, the company that owns ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, will invest 15 million euros to expand and better circulation at Porto’s airport.

The investments would allow the airport’s capacity for airplane circulation to increase from its current level of 20 planes per hour to 32. The increase would come from a rapid exit from the runway and multiple entrances. Runway capacity would also rise by 60%, potentially allowing for increase passenger flows in the future.  Currently, the airport can handle 12 million passengers per year, and that total should increase to 20 million by the end of construction, forecast for April 2020.
