Public Tender for Setúbal Marina to Be Launched in the First Quarter of 2019

12 November 2018

The public tender for the concession for the future Setúbal marina will be launched in the first quarter of 2019.

According to Publituris, this is the belief of the mayor of Setúbal, Maria das Dores Meira, who spoke just outside the inauguration of the Meliá Setúbal, last Thursday.

The mayor stated that her administration has nearly concluded the specifications for the tender and that the Port Administration of Setúbal and Sesimbra (APSS) will soon launch the respective tender. “In the first quarter of 2019, we will launch the public tender, and there are already a number of interested groups, including the Macau-based [Macao Legend] group,” she said.

The project includes housing, hotel units, two of them on Avenida Luisa Todi and another near the Albarquel Fort. The Libertas Group is developing the latter and is already in the licensing phase.

The project will also include restaurants and administrative/logistical facilities to support the marina. The Club Naval Setubalense, which currently uses the space, will be relocated.

After launching the public tender, the mayor hopes that the project will be completed by 2021, according to Publituris.
