Intesa Sanpaolo sold non-performing loans for €1.4 bln

Intesa Sanpaolo announced the transfer to AMCO of an NPL portfolio deriving from leasing amounting to €1.4 billion. The portfolio mainly consists of corporate leasing contracts, most of which are backed by assets. With this operation, AMCO confirms its intention to support banks in their de-risking operations.

Intesa Sanpaolo to lease high-rise in MilanoSesto

Through the fund Unione 0, managed by Prelios, Hines and Cale Street entered a preliminary agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo for the 15 years-lease of a new high-rise in MilanoSesto, Milan. Excellently connected by public transport, the new building will be the bank’s new HQ, covering 29,000 Sqm and developing over 17 floors. The completion of the works is expected by 2025. The area will also feature an Accor hotel, a student residence, apartments, and a park.

Illimity and Cordifin acquired for €50 mln two hotels in Venice

Illimity and Cordifin acquired two four-stars hotels in Venice, Ai Cavalieri and Ai Reali, for €50 million from AMCO, Intesa and Prelios. The operation was carried through securitisation with two tranches backed by assets. Illimity subscribed the senior tranche, while Cordifin subscribed the junior one.

Intesa Sanpaolo sold NPLs for 2.6 bln €

Intesa Sanpaolo sold to Mediobanca non-performing loans amounting to 2.6 billion € which are part of a bigger portfolio for a value of 4.4 billion (Kenobi). The portfolio also includes NPLs for 1.9 billion € that went to Banca Ifis, Guber Banca, Deva Capital and Intrum. Deva Capital and Intrum also acquired a non-performing leasing portfolio totalling 1.1 billion (Portland).

Finally, Christofferson Robb & Co (Crc) is the underwriter of the mezzanine and junior tranches of a UTP portfolio held by Intesa for a value of 2 billion € named Project M2.

Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence obtained funding from Intesa, Banco Bpm and Mps Capital Services

The requalification project of the old tobacco factory (Manifattura Tabacchi) in Florence got sustainability-linked funding for 92.3 million € from Intesa, Banco Bpm and Mps Capital Services. The loan has a five-year duration and aims to fund the urban regeneration of the 110,000 Sqm industrial area by 2026 in compliance with rigorous environmental sustainability criteria. The project is 40% supported by Cdp Immobiliare and 60% by Aermont Capital.

Bizzi & Partners to partner with Intesa Sanpaolo for the restructuring of Angst Hotel in Bordighera

Intrum acquired NPLs for 1.9 bln €

Intrum had completed NPL operations on the Italian market amounting to 1.9 billion € in total. Together with Deva Capital (Santander Group), Intrum acquired a leasing portfolio from Intesa Sanpaolo Provis and Ubi Leasing for a nominal value of 1.1 billion €, consisting of secured loans backed by approximately 750 assets.

Deva Capital and Intrum had also entered an agreement to acquire from Intesa Sanpaolo a secured loans portfolio towards SMEs with a nominal value of around 610 million €.

Finally, Intrum acquired from Intesa Sanpaolo and Bper an unsecured consumer credit portfolio with a nominal value of approximately 225 million €.

Intesa Sanpaolo exploring possible NPL disposal for 5-6 bln €

Reuters reports that Intesa Sanpaolo is currently exploring the possibility of disposing non-performing loans between 5 and 6 billion €. Consistent with the bank’s de-risking process, the gross NPLs at the end of 2020 declined to 24.6 billion €, reporting a 5.9% NPE ratio, allowing Intesa Sanpaolo to exceed its objectives set in its 2018-2021 plan.
