The new megastore Ikea-Eataly opening in Rome
26 October, Monitor Immobiliare
The first Ikea megastore is opening in Rome. It will be accommodated in the Eataly building in Ostiense. The commercial partnership will be celebrated in the upcoming days, although there is still no official public opening date, but will be soon anyway. The inauguration and the related press conference is scheduled for 30th October.
It will be a two-storey shop offering a varied array of merchandise. The two structures will be linked at the ground and first floors.
Including the Ostiense store, Ikea will have totalled three stores in Rome. This partnership is something new also for Eataly, the store specialised in gourmet food (and not only). The company invested two million euro in renovating the disused train station built for the 1990 world cup. The property was recovered by Oscar Farinetti who made the flagship store of fine food out of it on 21st June 2012. And now this Italian-Swedish partnership.
