Kering to open another The Mall outlet in Italy after Florence

27 November, Fashion Network

After The Mall in Florence, there will be a The Mall Sanremo. The outlet will offer luxury apparel, accessories, jewels and watches brands. The opening is expected in 2019. The Kering’s model of luxury outlet gave its results, making possible for the French group to start a second project.

After a long process that required three years to obtain the necessary permits, the works have started, and they’re supposed to be completed by mid-2019. There are already the first pictures of the new luxury mall on the website.

The objective is to replicate the success of The Mall in Florence, which has recently added new services to its offer. The mall is immersed in the Tuscany countryside, and it offers an exclusive selection of 40 luxury brands, each of them with its dedicated space.

All the Kering’s brands are present. Some of them, like Gucci, has a huge space, featuring even a Gucci Caffè on the rooftop which opened in 2014. There is also its direct competitor LVMH, along with Givenchy, also present with a dedicated space, and Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Burberry, Chloé, Zegna, Roberto Cavalli, Salvatore Ferragamo, Philipp Plein, Moschino, Aquazurra and GCDS.

While the Florence outlet has a surface of 78 thousand Sq m with various independent blocks, the Sanremo location will be approximately half of it, 32 thousand Sq m, and it will develop around a main building. The new outlet, however, will provide the same high standard of services in order to offer a “luxury shopping” experience to the customers, featuring VIP lounges and deliveries to hotels for the travellers. The brand portfolio will differ though from that the Florence Mall.

The new outlet aims at building a partnership with the main players of international tourism as well as with local operators, starting from the hoteliers and restaurants in Sanremo.

The Mall Luxury Outlets is managed by Design Management Srl, a Kering subsidiary, whose turnover the parent company doesn’t wish to disclose.
