The Benetton family is increasing investments in real estate and has appointed Mauro Montagner from Allianz Real Estate to manage Edizione Property, 100% owned by Edizione srl operating in the real estate sector. After all, the interest of Benetton, especially of Giancarlo, for real estate is well known. After Autostrade and Autogrill, Edizione Property is the third business of Edizione Holding in terms of relevance, thanks to real estate assets for a market value of 1.6 billion euro, about one-seventh of the net asset value of the entire group amounting 11.5 billion. Today, Edizione Property holds a portfolio of 112 properties (59 in Italy and 53 in 16 European countries) located in the high streets of the main European capitals. A good part is represented by Benetton stores, together with iconic buildings such as Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice (rented to the American group Bss) and the old Borsa Merci in Florence, currently under renovation.
Montagner will shortly present the new strategic plan of the group. He comes from Allianz Real Estate, where he was the Ceo for Southern Europe from 2013 to 2017. Before that, he was the managing director of Morgan Stanley Real Estate and previously of Curzon Global Partners in London.
