The old Inps offices in Piazza Augusto Imperatore in Rome have been looking for a buyer for years. Although several prestigious businesses were moved out of the building in 2015, there was no replacement plan for the 22 thousand Sq m property with a view on the Augustus Mausoleum and the Ara Pacis. The building was transferred to the Fip fund as decreed by the former Minister Giulio Tremonti and managed by InvestiRe Sgr.
Edizione Property owned by the Benetton family has acquired the asset. The operation is valued about 150 million euro. What will be the use of the former headquarters of the social security institution? The asset will be likely turned into a hotel. The hotel chain Bulgari and the fund Mandarin have been competing for the leasing and management contract. The appointment and the requalification of the property will be defined in upcoming weeks.
