08 October, Milano Finanza

The amount of mortgage loans issued by banks has increased by 7% in the last year. According to a survey by Facile.it and Mutui.it on a sample of over 25 thousand applications between 1st January 2017 and 30th June 2018, the average amount reached 150,923 euro in the first part of 2018. Small towns reported a countertrend, with average loans risen by 1.5% and achieving 116,388 euro. “Properties, especially in the provinces, have lost a good part of their value in the last ten years”, explains Ivano Cresto, head of mortgages for Facile.it. “Such a sharp decrease causes a gap between the expectations of buyers and sellers and the actual real estate values, putting at stake the chances of obtaining adequate funding”.
