following the request of expansion from the 7,950 Sq m already authorised to the 15 thousand Sq m
Only two conditions: the respect of the environmental monitoring plan and the creation of a roundabout between Via dell’Artigianato and Via del Commercio. The extension request for up to 15 thousand Sq m of the commercial area of the Occhiobello outlet gets the approval from the commission for the environmental impact assessment. No new construction, rather the interior expansion of the already existing units in the area. In other words, the walls separating the area accessible to the public and the warehouse will be torn down (within each unit), adding in this way more commercial surface.
Hence, the sales space will double. The commission for the environmental impact assessment of the Province of Rovigo voted unanimously in favour of the request from the outlet, but it put two conditions: the respect of the environmental supervision plan implying regular checks concerning traffic, quality of the air, water flow, sewerage, waste, electricity usage and noise levels. The creation of a new roundabout between Via dell’Artigianato and Via del Commercio “will favour the access to the outlet from Via del Commercio, improving the viability along the regional roads 6 between Ferrara and Rovigo”, an essential condition in the case the outlet becomes fully operational with a surface of 15 thousand Sq m.
In giving its approval, the commission highlighted how the company has planned to use low acoustic-impact asphalt, a specific technological system for rainwaters and sewage waters collection, a soundproof structure and low-impact measures such as: internal and external led illumination, a photovoltaic equipment to charge electric bicycles, heat pumps to regulate the temperature, a shuttle bus service to and from the outlet, a pedestrian walk along with a cycling lane connecting with the Po river, a training circuit and a playground.
