Outlook of the Italian real estate market

29 July, Linkedin

Nomisma reports that all the main residential markets are currently expanding, thanks to the increasing demand and transactions, as well as a modest growth of prices. Residential investments are on the rise, although this is still a secondary trend.

Foreign investors represent 60-70% of the total investments in non-residential segments. However, the weak economic situation of the past few years had reduced the attractivity of the country. The corporate market suffers from the lack of quality product, with the only exception of Milan. Hospitality, social housing, senior living and student halls are the emerging markets to bet on for the relaunch of the country.

In conclusion, despite the current challenging macroeconomic context, real estate is in good shape, although the risk of a possible recession is not to be excluded in case of a weak economic outlook.
