Oaktree aims at expanding in the Italian real estate market through Sator sgr

12 December, Milano Finanza

Thanks to the acquisition from Castello Sgr of a portfolio of 15 hotels for a total of 250 million euro, Oaktree entered the Italian market of closed-end real estate investment funds. Now, Oaktree seeks to consolidate its position in real estate through new partnerships. For this purpose, the American asset manager is currently evaluating Sator Sgr, which manages 11 funds for a gross asset value of over 900 million and about 110 managed assets. According to the rumours, Oaktree might be the favourite candidate in the competition that also sees Fortress and UniCredit among the possible candidates.
