Naples: houses and green spaces in the former tobacco factory

The old tobacco factory, which was closed down 2002, surface, will undergo an urban regeneration process thanks to the support of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the owner of the property. The asset is located in the eastern part of Naples, and it covers 16 hectares

The operation follows the construction of a university campus for 9 thousand Sq m and 180 beds which was completed in 2011 and then sold to Università Parthenope.

The City Council approved the project at the end of 2017. It involves the development of the land and the implementation of various functions such as housing, services, commercial activities, public services and green areas for a total surface between 125 and 133 thousand Sq m. Of these, 61 thousand Sq m will be used for new houses, 21 thousand Sq m for commercial activities, 9 thousand Sq m for the university, 34 thousand Sq m for services and 7,200 Sq m for hotel facilities.

The plan also includes parking lots, education facilities, a covered market, a playground, and new public transport. The project will be implemented by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and will be then sold to the city administration.
