Luxury houses replacing offices, the new face of Turin

15 March, La Repubblica

After the standstill of the last few years, Turin is now changing face. Imagine walking in Via Roma, Between Porta Nuova and Piazza Cln. The works have started with the Sephora store at the corner with Via Gramsci. Here, the owners, the group Louis Vuitton, are updating the look of the store with concrete walls and black and white everywhere, the colours of the brand. Not far from there, there are the works for the Stroili Oro concept store, the low-cost jewellery chain stores. It features big windows with lots of light, colour contrasts, following a model already adopted in other stores.

At the number 24 of Via Lagrange, the former building of the Region of Piedmont will be completely remodelled. The construction company Primula is transforming the offices in luxury apartments which will be ready by winter 2019, 65% has already been sold. The building develops over five floors, with the sixth floor and the rooftop assigned to the architect Fabio Fantolini for the project Ellen. “The building is dated 1936, the year the Kessler twins were born, I’m a great admirer of them, also because I’m a twin myself “- says Marta Minniti, the owner. “The name is a tribute to one of them, the next building we’re going to work on will be named Alice”. Waiting to know where they’re going to carry out the next intervention, we stumble upon the works for the Hotel Principi di Piemonte. The owners say it’s only an intervention for the renovation of the façade. In Piazza Cln, Edilcase is working on the building at the corner with Via Frola to carry out another project of upscale residential requalification.
