IWG reached 50 locations and 100,000 Sq m of office surface in Italy with the brands Regus and Spaces

12 December, La Mia Finanza

Milan confirmed its status of smart working capital with 25 business centres. Spaces arrived in Rome and Regus in Florence.

Italy can be smart when it comes to work, and it has nothing to envy to the other European capitals. Two-thirds of the Italians work from remote at least once a week (source: the IWG report 2018 The Workspace Revolution). IWG is present in 50 locations in Italy for a total surface of 100,000 Sq m.

IWG is the leader in the workspaces market. It’s present in Italy with the brands Regus and Spaces. Thanks to the recent openings in Porta Venezia and Milano Loreto in Milan, the opening of a fourth space in Turin and a second in Padua, plus the arrival in Florence, Regus will have achieved 48 business centres throughout Italy by the end of the year. The brand “Spaces” will debut in December in Rome with the opening of a space developed over seven floors in EUR. The space will focus on creativity and innovation. In the pipeline for Spaces, there are also openings in Milan and Rome in 2019.

Milan, Italy’s smart working capital

In Milan, IWG has a 24hr Regus business centre and Spaces in Porta Nuova. The centres in Cairoli and Loreto, always in Milan, opened at the end of the summer, while the centre in Porta Venezia at number 31 of Via Nino Bixio was inaugurated in November. The business centre has 2,000 Sq m of office space, 53 offices, 180 workstations and 40 co-working spaces.

Spaces Roma EUR: the debut in the Capital

Spaces Roma EUR will open in December 2018. The modern and exclusive neighbourhood in the capital will accommodate a seven-storey building with 4,465 Sq m of office space, 150 offices, 460 workstations, 84 co-working spaces, 10 meeting rooms and 160 parking spaces. In addition, there are eight Regus centres scattered all around the city.

Florence opened to flexible work

The first Regus business centre in Florence will open on 17th December. It will be strategically positioned on Viale Matteotti, one of the main streets. The business centre will develop on five floors in a historical building. The surface is almost 2,000 Sq m. It will include 53 offices, 190 workstations, 28 co-working spaces, 3 meeting rooms and 8 parking spaces.

Country Manager for Regus Italia Mauro Mordini commented: “The workspace revolution has started, and it has become an established reality also in Italy. In terms of dimensions and number of spaces, I’d say that the centres in Italia are definitely aligned with those around Europe. In 2014 we were present in the country with 10 spaces, we’ll reach 50 by the end of the year. In terms of absolute numbers, however, the Italian market is still rather small and still offering growth potential. We’re assisting at the development of flexible workspaces as a mainstream phenomenon compared to the past. Culturally, the market is booming, but Italian companies are leading the change. In the last year, the demand for such spaces has doubled. It’s the sign the country is keeping up with the trends”.
