Idealista: property prices continued declining in 2019

Property prices kept falling in 2019 by 2.8% on average, according to Idealista. Prices are expected to reduce further in 2020, although the decline will be less dramatic than in the past. The growth will resume only in 2022.

Naples (-8.5%), Bari (-7%) and Genova (-6.6%) reported the sharpest decrease, while the negative trend had slowed down in Rome (-2%) and Turin (-0.3%). Florence and Bologna grew respectively by 7.2% and 6.4%, while Milan is set at 4.6%.

Venice confirms being Italy’s most expensive city with 4,481 euro/Sq m, followed by Florence (3,938 euro/Sq m), Bolzano-Bozen (3,614 euro/Sq m), and Milan (3,377 euro/Sq m). The cheapest cities are Ragusa (833 euro/Sq m), Caltanissetta (785 euro/Sq m) and Biella (720 euro/Sq m).
