Ex Expo, Galeazzi acquired 50,000 Sq m for the new hospital

13 June, Avvenire

The purchase of 50,000 Sq m of land near Cascina Triulza has been completed. Here, the new Galeazzi hospital will rise. Marco Rotelli on behalf of Galeazzi and Giuseppe Bonomi for Arexpo signed the agreement. It’s the first acquisition in the area that hosted the International Exposition in 2015. The area has been renamed Mind (Milan Innovation District). The operation cost 25 million euro.

The project will gather under only one facility the Irccs Galeazzi Hospital and the Sant’Ambrogio clinic. The new building will develop over 16 floors for a total surface of 150,000 Sq m. The ground floor will accommodate the emergency and the diagnostics departments, along with the reception for the admission of patients and carers. In the upper floors, there will be laboratories, the outpatient department, the operating rooms and the intensive care. The stories between the 9th and the 14th will accommodate 338 rooms: rooms with two beds each and private bathroom. The start of the works is scheduled for the summer.
