From drones to Huawei: the shops of the City Life shopping centre

All set for the opening scheduled for 30th November

The first European Huawei flagship store, a drones store, and new brands never seen before in Italy. This will be the new City Life shopping centre in the former expo area of Milan which is thriving at the moment, after a difficult start due to the competition by Porta Nuova with its requalification.

One hundred stores, including a supermarket and a multiplex cinema. A catchment area of approximately 700 thousand people, according to the company managing the project, which includes the population of the western part of the city as well as the workers of the insurance towers Allianz and Generali. This former, also known as Isozaki Tower, is ready to accommodate by the middle of October the majority of the Allianz employees working in the city.

Shops, cinema, supermarket, wellbeing

What are brands of City Life? As anticipated in the previous months, among the brands we find California Bakery, Cioccolati Italiani, Bomaki, Panini Durini, Pie, That’s Vapore, The Meatball Family, and Vivo. These shops and many more will occupy 32 thousand Sq m ( designed by Zaha Hadid) in three interconnected areas. Restaurants will be on the first floor which will also include a wifi hotspot and charging stations for electronic devices. The second floor will accommodate entertainment with seven movie theatres for a total of 1,200 seats managed by Anteo, it will be called City Life Spazio Cinema. At the ground floor, there will be fashion stores and a 1,200 Sq m Carrefour supermarket, plus a space dedicated to health and wellbeing with a Italian Diagnostic Centre clinic.

Opening date and latest news

The international drones brand Dji will be also present at City Life. And Huawei, the Chinese giant of electronic devices (smartphones, tablets, and laptops too) will open its first European flagship store in Milan in City Life and it will hire permanently eight employees.

Italian Diagnostic Centre will not be the only brand related to wellbeing. There will be also Nashi Salon (first in the world), Centro Salus, and Juneco. Another debut, Democracy Design, a new Trading Group project dedicated to novelty and furniture. Finally, Habitat, a historic furniture and design brand.

While waiting for the rest of the names, the opening date is 30th November 2017.
