Carlyle returns to the Italian real estate and invests in logistics

19 December, Il Sole 24 Ore

Carlyle returns to invest again in the Italian real estate after years of inactivity and it chooses the fastest growing segment at the moment: logistics. The American group, in fact, has purchased a portfolio composed of five logistical assets located in Northern Italy for a value of over 100 million euro. The assets will be part of the European platform for whose purpose Carlyle purchased at the beginning of 2017 logistical assets for 413 thousand Sq m in France.

The portfolio was bought through two separate transactions: four properties come from Prologis, and the fifth comes from a European investment fund.

All the properties are located in the logistics network of Northern Italy, with its centre in Milan and extending to Bologna, Venice and Turin. The portfolio is 90%occupied.
