Brescia: launched the construction site for Nuovo Flaminia, investments for over 60 million euro

04 January, Brescia Today

The new shopping centre Nuovo Flaminia is taking shape. It’s part of a big urban planning operation in an area of over 100 thousand Sq m, with investments for over 60 million euro. The operation will make possible to reconvert the former general storehouses, left vacant since more than 15 years, and to radically change the area between Via Dalmazia and Via Salgari, in the southern part of the city.

The latest updates on the works currently in process have been published by locale newspaper Giornale di Brescia. Some of the highlights of the project are: the new shopping centre will measure 27 thousand Sq m in total and it will develop on two floors. It will feature a hypermarket of the brand Coop Lombardia of 7 thousand Sq m, and shops for other 8 thousand Sq m (about 20 in total).

While on the second floor there will be 500 Sq m for offices, a wide terrace open to the public facing directly on the park, this too to be implemented with an investment of 100 thousand euro by Immobiliare Turchese, the company referred by Coop Lombardia that is currently working at the investment.

The agreement sees nearly 400 thousand euro for urban planning works carried out by companies. Among the works, there is the implementation of a park surrounded by a wall for 120 thousand euro, together with the reorganization works of the area between Via Salgari and Via Dalmazia (including a cycling lane) for other 175 thousand euro.

That’s not all: the facility will feature also 850 parking spaces. It’s not excluded in the future the possibility to create a restaurant, open also at night. The old Coop supermarket in Via Salgari will be closed and moved to Nuovo Flaminia. The building will be emptied and perhaps requalified to accommodate Bricolo, a DIY shop of the brand Coop.

The constructions site opened last May, the works in Via Salgari and Via Dalmazia are expected to be completed by next spring, while the works on park will start soon. Finally, by the end of the year or 2019 at latest, Nuovo Flaminia shopping centre will be ready to open to public.
