A wooden 14-floor skyscraper in Jesolo

12 November, Il Sole 24 Ore

Italy’s (and Europe’s) highest wooden tower will be built next year in Jesolo. It will be named Cross Lam Tower, 14 floors and 45 Sq m. The construction in Via Don Guerrino Bertolin will start soon and will last one year. The tower will feature 28 apartments of 100 Sq m each including terraces. The total investment amounts to over 6 million and more than one-third of the units are already taken. The construction will use 105 tonnes of wood. The energy efficiency class is A4. The building aims at integrating its architectural structure with the surrounding area. The residential complex is parted by two big wings, creating a space for the vertical distribution of the building. The southern façade develops in a complex series of blades in various shades of blue, while the northern side is more compact thanks to the size of windows.

The project is signed by the architecture firm Demogo from Treviso on behalf of the company Urban-Bio. It was presented last Saturday in Jesolo during the event “Urban planning as intuition” promoted by the City of Jesolo and sponsored by the architect’s association of Venice.
