Tsakos group won the lease of the Xenia hotel in Chios

Tsakos group, through Avlum, won the tender for the 50-year lease of Xenia Hotel in Chios island.

The online tender process for the long-term lease of the old Xenia hotel in Chios, the first of the EOT ( Greek National Tourism Organization) hotels to be leased for 50 years, has been completed.

The tender was won by the Tsakos business group through Avlum. The company is also the main shareholder of the company that has undertaken the project and management of Chios marina.

The tender was awarded for an annual rent of 30,000 euros, and the tenant also undertakes the repair. The starting price for the lease was 16,000 euros.

The “Xenia” of Chios belongs to ETAD (Public Real Estate Company), with a plot of land of 1.668.66 sq.m. and its buildings amount to 1,572.47 sqm.

Located at Bella Vista Beach in the island’s main town, the Xenia hotel was constructed in the early 1960s. A three-storey building, it originally operated as a hotel with a capacity of 28 rooms (22 double and 6 single) – 50 beds. It is in walking distance from both the city center and the main port of the island and 2km from Chios International Airport.

ETAD’s portfolio of properties includes 31 Xenia hotels that are located in various Greek destinations. ETAD is a state organization for the management of public real estate.
